By booking a tour with Glacier trips ehf., kennitala 690515-0240 ("Glacier Trips", "we"), you agree to these terms. They exist so both of us know exactly where we stand — please read them before your tour.

Booking and payment

You can book on glaciertrips.is, by email at info@glaciertrips.is, or by phone at +354 779 2919. Your seat is confirmed once payment is completed and you receive a confirmation email — check that the date, tour and party size are correct, and bring the booking number (on your phone is fine). Prices are in Icelandic króna (ISK) and include VAT. Card payments are handled by our payment processor; your card details never reach our systems.

Weather, safety and changes by us

Safety decides everything on a glacier. All tours are weather- and condition-dependent. If we have to cancel — before departure or even midway through a tour — you choose between a free reschedule (subject to availability) or a full refund (a card-transaction fee may be non-refundable).

Conditions also decide where we go: we may visit a different ice cave or adjust the route on the day if our morning check says the planned one isn't safe. That flexibility is part of visiting real, natural ice caves — a changed cave or route on a tour that runs is not grounds for a refund.

Cancellations and refunds

Cancel by email to info@glaciertrips.is.

More than 48 hours before departure: 100% refund (card companies may charge a small refund fee).
Within 48 hours of departure: no refund.
Late arrival or no-show: no refund — even in bad weather — if the tour runs. Winter roads are slow, so we recommend staying nearby: east of Skaftafell in Vatnajökull National Park or in/near Höfn.

We make no exceptions to this policy for any reason beyond our control — personal or medical circumstances, weather that still allows the tour to run, flight cancellations, strikes or other events. We are also not responsible for costs made in preparation for a tour (such as flights or hotels), so confirm your tour before booking non-refundable travel.

Age and fitness

Ice Cave Inside Vatnajökull (short tour): minimum age 8.
Ice Cave Adventures Dream (includes the glacier hike): minimum age 14.
Private tours: minimum age depends on the activity — ask us.

Participants should be reasonably fit for walking on uneven ice and follow the guide's instructions at all times. If you have a medical condition, injury or fitness concern, tell us or your guide before the tour — we use that information only to keep you safe (see our privacy policy). We may refuse participation, without refund, to anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs — a glacier is no place for it.

Equipment and clothing

We provide the safety equipment each tour needs: helmet, headlamp when needed, and micro spikes when conditions call for them on the short tour; the Adventures Dream tour adds crampons and a harness. You bring warm outdoor layers and sturdy hiking boots — your confirmation email includes a full what-to-wear list.

Liability

Glacier travel carries inherent risk. To the extent permitted by Icelandic law, Glacier Trips, its owners and guides are not liable for losses, delays or costs caused by circumstances beyond our control, nor for accidents that result from a participant ignoring the guide's instructions or from their own actions. Participation is at your own responsibility.

Travel insurance

We strongly recommend trip-cancellation or interruption insurance to protect you against the unexpected before or during your trip.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Icelandic law. Any dispute that we cannot resolve together may be brought before the District Court of East Iceland (Héraðsdómur Austurlands).
